Rock, Paper, Scissors
With many of people, as well as organizations struggling today with life, facing huge demands right, left, up and down… It is important for people to remember little wisdom that have great impacts … Those little things that we used to talk about, but never thought deep about .. The games we used to play when we were young, but no one deeply reflected on what they mean … Would you like to reflect with me? .. Let’s play the famous Rock, Paper, Scissors ….
The Rock
We always refer to rocks as solid, and we describe people who are strong in life through being tough and solid as a rock during turbulence and pressure .. It is very true, when we compare rocks to human beings, since they are more solid in nature than human being flesh and blood, but we forget to reflect that rocks are actually coming from broken mountains .. so rocks do break, and even the most solid rock will always break under the right pressure.. Isn’t that true?
Rocks form as a result of a mountain being destroyed by nature force, or by human beings, so no matter how solid you are, how big you are, something else in this world is able to destroy you, break you … into pieces … very small pieces ..
Paper
In the old game we used to play, “Paper” used to beat rock .. remember? But rocks are more solid, more sharp in nature, heavier and a “paper” can never “Physically” beat rocks .. true?
Have you ever thought about this deeply? Paper would reflect on having a plan, writing thoughts, putting down big troubles in black and white, then breaking them into small route causes, then eventually having a plan to demolish them on a certain schedule ..
How did human beings demolish mountains? How did they dig roads and tunnels through the roughest mountains on earth? Always through engineering, planning, designing and putting thoughts on paper … No matter how big was the mountain .. paper, filled with the right information, will always beat it …
Scissors
“Scissors cut paper” .. True or false? ………… Of course true, but cutting is one way of looking at it .. I would say “Scissors Shape paper”! How is that as a statement?
It’s always how we look at things in life .. cutting a part of our life is actually one way of reshaping our lives, and refreshing ourselves with something new that we haven’t experienced before .. which is not an easy statement to make, and usually the most painful one ..
Have you ever bought a pet? Did you witness the moment that you take a small puppy away from their mother, so that you own it? … How about marriage … do you know how a father would feel when his daughter leaves the house she was born and raised in? Do you know the feeling of a father to wake up one day and simply not find his daughter in her bed? Isn’t that all cutting pieces of us .. so painful moments …
But it’s all part of life .. tears of pain are always mixed with something new, sometimes exciting, sometimes enlightening .. only when you think deeply about it .. cutting-off something dear to you just simply sends you a message that nothing lasts forever, and no matter how solid your plan was on “Paper” a mighty scissors can tear it down .. You can either surrender, or stand solid as a “Rock” to stand up again and get once more on your feet ..
The Cocoon
Life goes on … a very common statement, very painful when we hear it, but very very true when we live it .. .. People, assets and everything valuable in life keep changing, and die one day .. but life still goes on ..
We need to be solid as “Rocks” to face all the challenges in life, and the only way to face strong challenges is by having a plan on “Paper” or reading how others have managed to pass similar situations through books and good reads … then eventually we will work out our plans, and keep going until suddenly we need to use the “Scissors” to remove something .. a negative person … a bad memory .. or maybe a great person whom we used to love and cherish, but unfortunately couldn’t keep any more .. and this will make us weak, in pain, and vulnerable … .. The we need to pick ourselves again .. solid like ever .. solid like a “Rock”, change our plans on “Paper” and use the “Scissors” once more to reshape … and life goes on …
Rock … Paper … Scissors … The game is on, and you can’t stop it..
